@aKenyanGirl often imagines that she is the ruler of the world, conquerer of the universe.
In her spare time she likes slaying dragons with her feline side kicks, Sami Sofapaka and Jojo Paka Power. On a more serious note shhe is the driving force behind a number of charitable causes run using the power of Social Media. The one you may be most familiar with would be the #WangariTrees campaign, which raised over Shs. 100,000/=

@aKenyanGirl

For her day job, she lists “Editor of www.vibeweekly.com” , she also adds that she currently doesn’t have a night job.
We had a few questions for her, this is what she had to say.
1. What was your first phone?
The first one I bought (with a loan from the company) was a Motorola something, huge brick ass that couldn’t fit in my jeans pocket, with an aerial sticking out of it. I loved it. Cost me 7,000/-, a lot of money back then!
2. What do you prefer? Facebook or Twitter? Why?
I use both, but prefer Twitter because it keeps conversations flowing with a larger community. However, Facebook is also great for keeping my close friends and family in touch with what I’m up to.
3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years

I cannot see into the future… But I would love to be filthy rich (who wouldn’t?) and lazying about, with a hotter body and an even hotter dude beside me.

Ok. Seriously? Probably owning my own company, and making it successful. I will probably be working hard at something, and still Tweeting, or doing whatever the social media thing will be then.
4. Any question for us? We’ll publish our answer as well
Do you guys have a sort of bromance going on?
  • Sure!!
And which is worse: a dog fart or a cat fart?
  • You had only one question, but since we asked ten, we will humour you. Canine over Feline.
5. What would you do if you were president for a day?

I wouldn’t know what to do. I would be too confused with all the calls coming in, and trying to catch up with what the last guy was doing.

But I would love to have time to actually make a difference in the country by probably passing a serious piece of legislation, like one that would put a cap on the MPs salaries forever and ever, to like 50k a month. Bila any perks. It should be about service, not making money and having ‘cheo’.
6. Whats your favourite book& movie?

I read too many books, so I have too many favourite books.

When I was a kid I would read Johanna Spyri’s ‘Heidi’ endlessly.
The funniest must be Peter Moore’s “No Shitting in the Toilet”.
The most ‘unputdownable” is Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci Code”
This year, the best book I’ve read is I love Ralph Helfer’s books, especially Zamba and Modoc. And not just cause I’m related to him, but because they’re about a human-animal relationship. And you know I love animals.
7. Who/What inspired you to do what you do now?
I always loved writing, scribbling thoughts in endless pages. I kind of stumbled into my job. Thanks to a boss who saw the potential. So I wasn’t inspired per se. Just found out what I love doing.
8. If you were to change jobs, what profession would you get into? Why?
I would want to be a veterinarian. I always wanted to be one. Somewhere along the way I got sidetracked. I love caring for animals.
9.If you had a superpower, what would it be?
To play cupid. I get to dart people in the ass, but I also make them fall in love.
10. If you were deserted on an abandoned island what 3/5 things would you
want to have?

a) an executive jet to get me outta there fast, but luxuriously

b) A good book to read, that never ends
c) An internet connection and laptop
d) Some cover from the elements of weather.
e) Fooooooooooooood!
11. If you were a car, what car would you like to be? Why?
Hmmm…… A monster truck so I can run over people! I think I need some anger management.
12. If you could be in any band in the world, which one would you like to be in? Why?

Queen! I love Freddie Mercury’s (bless his soul) vocal range. And I think he was a brilliant musician. Just to hear him scream:

“Scaramouche, scaramouche, will you do the fandango?
Thunderbolts and lightning – very very frightening me!”
13. Share something interesting about yourself with our readers.

Er… I usually don’t know how to answer that. It’s kind of like blowing my own trumpet, isn’t it?

Well, in my next life I want to come back as a ghost, so I can play tricks on people.
