The Nissan Challenge is an innovative campaign by DT Dobie which seeks to prove that Nissan’s range of pick-ups have the ability, the reliability and the durability required to get the job done no matter where you are in Kenya and no matter the terrain.

Over the course of five days, five Nissan pick-ups i.e. the NP200, the NP300 Hardbody, “Atoti” (NP300 Double Cabin), the Navara and the Patrol Pickup are going to set out upon a relay journey across Kenya carrying almost a tonne of relief food between them. The journey will begin in Mombasa on the morning of 6th of February 2012 then pass through Nairobi, Meru, Nakuru, Kisii, Eldoret, Kisumu and then finish late on Friday the 10th 2012 in Lodwar.

The entire journey will be filmed and broadcast on NTV early in March so that you can see every step of the adventure.

The one thing i don’t like about this campaign is the website. A flash website in this part of the world where most people access the internet via their mobile phones is not very smart.

The guy behind the wheel is Robert ‘Mwirigi’ Kunga. I interviewed him and the video is here below.
