Galaxy S4

The Samsung Galaxy SIII is the most successful android smartphone so far, selling an estimated 50 million devices around the world since its launch last year. That’s a very tough act to follow and with the next flagship device Samsung had to really up their game.

With the Galaxy S4, I think they’ve gotten it right in most respects and it is most likely the best smartphone EVER! Here’s why.

1. Bigger and better Screen

The S4 has the same dimensions as the S3 but the former has a bigger screen. It has a 5.0 inch display as compared to the S3’s 4.8 inch one. The S4 also has better resolution; full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The S4 uses Corning’s New Gorilla Glass 3 which enables improved damage and scratch resistance.

2. Camera

Not only does the S4 have a better camera but the picture quality is significantly better. The S4 has a 13 megapixels camera at the back and a 2 megapixels one on the front. Samsung has also upgraded its camera software, borrowing from what they are incorporating into the galaxy cameras, and this has contributed into making the S4 camera experience better.

The S4’s camera app has some cool features:

a. Dual camera: This feature allows users to use the front and back camera at the same time and it’s available in photo and video mode.

b. Sound and shot: This feature allows users to add nine seconds of sound to their photos.

c. Drama Shot: This feature allows users to see all the action in continuous pictures they’ve taken, in one continuous time-lapse’.

d. Eraser Shot: This lets you remove objects and photos from your photos.

e. Live Filters: Users can enhance and manipulate their photos with this feature.

3. Hardware

The Galaxy S4 comes with a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory (with an microSD card slot that can handle up to a 64GB). With this sort of processing power, the S4 is perfect for power users.

4. Sensors

Samsung have incorporated new sensor technology into the S4.

a. Air View: This feature allows users to hover with their fingers to preview the content of an email, S Planner, image gallery or video without having to open it. You can even see a magnified view on the internet browser, or a phone number saved in the speed dial on the keypad.

b. Air Gesture: This feature allows users to change a music track, scroll up and down a web page, or accept a call with a wave of their hand.

5. S Health

For the health conscious, S Health with come in handy as it will automatically monitor their health via a combination of sensors built into the S4. Users will be able to check their health conditions using food diary, exercise diary and sleep monitor.

These features and more are the reasons that make me believe that Samsung have got it right with the S4. What do you think of it?
