The National Police Service in Kenya has announced that it intends to hire 10,000 Kenyans to join the Police force. They will be trained as Police Constables.

Below are the requirements and the process of application.

Requirements

Applicants must be:

  1. Citizens of Kenya;
  2. Have a Kenya National Identity Card.
  3. Possess a minimum qualification of D+ ( Plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination with a D+ (Plus) in either English or Kiswahili languages.
  4. Be aged between 18 and 28 years for holders of KCSE Examination Certificate or its equivalent, and up to 30 years for diploma and degree holders;
  5. Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity;
  6. Be physically and medically fit;
  7. Have no criminal record or pending criminal charges.
  8. Female Candidates must not be pregnant at the recruitment stage and during the training period

Application Process

Applicants must go to a recruitment centre in their constituency on Monday 4th April 2016 from 8:00am to 5.00pm (See list of recruitment centres HERE).

Applicants must have the following when going to the recruitment centre.

  1. Duly completed application form (Download it HERE)
  2. Copies and originals academic certificates and testimonials
  3. Copy and original national ID.
  4. Copy and original birth certificate

Those that are recruited into the National Police Service will have to serve as Police Officers for a minimum period of 10 years.
