Top Actor Africa is a reality show that tests actors to the limits in nine grueling acting challenges. It takes the actors through every genre of film from improv to comedy, theatre, soapie, commercial, romance, horror, drama and action. Along the way they work with Hollywood and local industry experts including celebrity actors, casting agents, directors, producers, managers and writers as they fight to stay in the competition and keep their acting dreams alive. Season 1’s winner was Altovise Lawrence from South Africa.
After months of auditions across the continent in November 2015, BET identified 12 contestants from Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa to take part in season two of the reality tv show. Kenya’s Alex Khayo has made it to be among the three finalists for the title of Top Actor Africa. Alex, 27, is a full-time actor and a commercial model, has TV and theater experience, and has featured in several commercials and TV series.
He will compete against Jesse Suntele and Shamilla Miller, both from South Africa for the title of Top Actor and career-launching prize package that includes US$10,000 in cash, a one-year contract with international representation and access to Hollywood auditions.
