Airtel Africa has partnered with Apollo Hospitals to provide a service ‘Ask Apollo” that enables easy access to medical specialists. Ask Apollo is a web & mobile enabled patient centric service that combines the expertise of world renowned with the convenience of consulting them at any time from around the world. Apollo hospitals is the largest healthcare group in India and is so far in 120 countries around the world.

India currently receives many patients from Africa for medical treatment some of whom are misguided about their medical conditions that could otherwise be treated in Africa. While some others wait for treatment too long until it reaches a stage where cure is no longer possible. The easy-to-use ‘Ask Apollo’ platform will allow one to talk to doctors, face-to-face through video conferencing, or connect with them via voice or email. One can also upload clinical information including reports, images and scans, to be analyzed by Apollo experts, who can then provide an opinion within a stipulated time. This will enable patients to save time, money and energy that would have otherwise be spent in unnecessary travel to India.

Under the deal Airtel will enable its subscribers to enjoy discounted consultation and easy payment options through Airtel Money or the customer’s airtime.
