Kenyan passport

If your Kenyan passport has been lost, mutilated or has expired, then you must apply for a new passport. This is how you do it.

Replacement of an expired/mutilated passport – Requirements

1. A duly filled passport application form (download it here).
2. The expired, filled up or mutilated passport being replaced and its copy.
3. Three coloured passport size photographs of the applicant. One of the photos must be certified by the person recommending the applicant.
4. A certified copy of the ID of the person recommending.

Replacement of a lost passport – Requirements

1. A duly filled passport application form (download it here).
2. Original Birth Certificate of the applicant.
3. Three coloured passport size photographs of the applicant. One of the photos must be certified by the person recommending the applicant.
4. A certified copy of the ID of the person recommending.
5. An affidavit detailing the circumstances under which the loss of the passport occurred.
6. A Kenya police abstract.
7. A letter explaining the circumstances of the loss of the passport.

Fees

Expired/filled up passport

A series: 32 pages – Kshs. 4,500
B series: 48 pages – Kshs. 6,000
C series: 64 pages – Kshs. 7,500

Lost passport

Kshs. 12,000 (payable by Banker’s cheque)

Mutilated passport

Kshs. 10,000 (payable by Banker’s cheque)
