George Karanu, New Jameson Brand Manager for Kenya

Popular Whiskey brand Jameson last night appointed a new brand ambassador for Kenya at an event at Aqua Blu Club in Westlands. The new ambassador is George Karanu. He was previously an area sales manager at Safaricom before resigning to start his own business.

The outgoing Jameson Brand Ambassador for Kenya, Nelson Aseka, has been promoted and will now be the Jameson brand ambassador for Africa.

The new brand ambassador will be expected to:

  • Convert 25-35 year olds to the Jameson way of life through trial, market research and local media channels.
  • Help plan, strategize and initiate marketing opportunities to make Jameson a lifestyle choice for urban trendsetters the world over.
  • Be a social media mogul, blogging and posting updates about his progress.
  • Be conducting tasting sessions with targeted consumer groups and influencing the big players in the market, from the main distributors to barmen and loyal brand advocates.
  • Support his local brand team in all their market activations.
  • Research what the competitors are up to and how Jameson can counter them.
  • Immerse himself into the culture and be Jameson’s ear to the ground.

We wish George all the best in his new job.
