The Mpesa Foundation has announced that it is building a state of the art high school along the Thika- Mangu road. The academy will provide education to brilliant but academically challenged students; the school will offer the KCSE curriculum.

The Mpesa Foundation Academy is expected to open in January 2016, with an initial intake of 90; a number that is expected to increase to 800 by 2019.

In addition to academic facilities, the school will include an indoor sports hall, a sports field, running track, swimming pools, squash courts, a music centre and a 500 seats auditorium.

The mixed boarding high school will be redesigning the KCSE curriculum, not to just make it excitable but also allow the students to be innovative and ready for tertiary education or their own business ventures.

The Mpesa Foundation is a registered charitable trust with former Safaricom CEO, Michael Joseph as its Chairman.
