Samsung has launched the Samsung Z2 in Kenya, which is the first Tizen phone to be launched in Kenya. Tizen is an open source mobile operating system that was developed by a consortium of partners that includes Samsung.

The Samsung Z2 is a 4G smartphone. It comes with a 1.5GHz Quad-core processor, 1GB RAM , 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD), 1500mAh battery and a 5 Megapixel back camera. It comes pre-loaded with apps like Facebook, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Samsung features like the Ultra Power Saving Mode and Theme Store.

The Samsung Z2 is available in either the Black and Gold colours and it is retailing at Ksh. 5,999.
