Cellulant, a digital payments service provider, has won in the Payments & Transfers category at the 2016 African FinTech Awards at the Finance Indaba Africa event that was held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

Cellulant is headquartered in Nairobi and was founded in 2014 by Ken Njoroge and Bolaji Akinboro. The company has a presence in 8 African countries and serves 25 banks.

Finance Indaba Africa is the biggest annual expo and conference for finance professionals in Africa. The African Fintech Awards recognizes the best fintech companies in Africa. Nominations for the 2017 awards are open.
