The 6th edition of the Rusinga Festival will be on December 21 and 22. The annual festival celebrates and aims to preserve the Suba culture and it is hosted on Rusinga Island in Homabay County.
The theme for this year”s festival is SPACES, which is a celebration of the platform the festival has provided for the Abasuba community in the last five years.
The two day event will have the following activities:
1. Food exhibition
2. Sports
3. Cultural performances
4. Art exhibition
5. Cultural pageant fashion show
6. Book exhibition
7. Conversations on various topical issues
8. Tours – Rusinga and Mfangano Islands are in the tentative list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.
